PICCINNI PRIZE

RULES

Art.1
The award takes the name “Piccinni Prize – For excellence in performing arts” and was established by the Niccolò Piccinni Fund in 1967 at the behest of Vittorio Piccinni, a descendant of the well-known composer.

Art.2
The Prize is dedicated to the figure of Niccolò Piccinni, not only because of his stature as a great composer, but also in memory of his commitment as a promoter of talent in the musical, literary and theatrical spheres in the long eighteenth century.

Art.3
The Prize consists of a commemorative medal made entirely of silver, depicting Niccolò Piccinni with his name in Latin, and takes its inspiration from an 1823 commemorative effigy designed by Armand Auguste Caqué, aka Caqué F.

Art.4
The Prize is awarded annually and is intended for artists who have distinguished themselves internationally for their creativity, originality and competence in the field of music, opera and theater, and who have been able to inspire new generations.

Art.5
The Comité d’Honneur, which awards the Prize, is composed of the President and members of the Niccolò Piccinni Fund, the winners of past editions and the Piccinni Ambassadors in the world, i.e. artists, musicologists, and institutional personalities of clear renown. The work of the committee is unanimous and unquestionable.

Art.6
The awardee is selected from a list of candidates proposed by the members of the  Comité d’Honneur of Piccinni Prize.

Art.7
The procedures for awarding the prize are governed by specific internal regulations shared by the members of the Comité d’Honneur.

Art.8
The awarding of the Prize and the reading of the motivations takes place during a gala evening organized by the Niccolò Piccinni Fund.

Art.9
All image and communication rights of the event are reserved for the Niccolò Piccinni Fund and the awardees authorize by statute the Fund to use them.The winners of past editions are ex officio members of the Comité d’Honneur.

Art.10
The awardee declares that he/she fully accepts the conditions of these regulations and authorizes the use of personal data in accordance with Law 196/2003 and its subsequent amendments.
